You have to remember that I've lived in this city as a student, a tourist and a full-time employee so my spending power has varied and given me the opportunity to experience all that the city has to offer when it comes to fashion, food and beauty. Focusing on beauty for now, keep reading to create your own little black book.
Budget / Cloud9 Beauty, Southwark:
After a few attempts to find a nail salon that does an express manicure without a hefty price-tag attached, I found Cloud 9 Beauty hidden between the Thames and Maltby Street Market. For £12 (it's cash only!) I could get my nails trimmed, buffed, painted and dried within 20 minutes - which for London, is a pretty good deal! I would even recommend them for their brow treatments - ask for Rabia, she's amazing.

Bougie / Dryby, Mortimer Street:
DryBy was one of the first places I visited to get my hair done in London. I got a call about an interview for an internship and it was scheduled the same afternoon - I was too far away from home to go back, wash and dry my hair, and make it back in time. I rang DryBy, they got me an emergency appointment (they're cashless!) and I had the most relaxing hair appointment I'd had in years. I've been a returning customer several times after, had my nails done for Christmas too, and it's still my go-to place for a good pamper-session.

Bougie / Samantha Cusick Hair, Notting Hill:
I'd had long hair for almost 7 years of my life, but in 2019, I just decided I'd had enough and I wanted a nice long-bob, or lob if you're familiar. After weeks, and weeks of research, a Pinterest board for reference, and contemplating my decision (with and without the influence of friends and wine) - I decided to go to Samantha Cusick's team in Notting Hill. I didn't need a consultation beforehand, but I think if you're colouring your hair or prepping for an event, they insist you come in for a patch-test and a consultation with a stylist. Day of, I went in, told the stylist what I wanted, showed her a couple of reference images and I was so, so happy with the cut and styling, I refuse to let anyone else cut my hair short again (I'm not joking, I'm already growing my hair out for September) - ask for Charisse!

Budget / Topshop Oxford Circus:
The best place to go to, if you're on a budget is the Topshop at Oxford Circus. They've got a whole range of services you can get in their lower ground floor - from hair with Hershesons or Bluetit, nails at House of Muck, and brows at Blink, there are several affordable options for all your requests and requirements. The Jamie jeans you may pick up on the way out is just an added bonus IMO.
